WHO SHE SERVES

Barbara works with women who, after managing a household for "X" number of years, is forced by financial necessity to enter or reenter the workforce and find a wage-paying job. In general she works with women who:

• Barbara partners with nonprofit organizations, women advocacy groups, workforce development agancies and corporations that are supportive of displaced women entering, re-entering and advancing in the workforce and small business. They view and actively promote economic self-sufficiency for women as a strategic imperative and priority.


• Barbara produces and organizes The Job Auction Career Expo for Displaced Homemakers and delivers "Crisis Conquering" Keynotes around the country to help displaced women and others Re-build Confidence, Careers & American Dreams -- In The Midst of CRISIS!

About Barbara's Career Events
  • Have not worked as an employee for a substantial number of years.
  • Have worked in her home providing "unpaid" services for family members.

      2. The number of displaced homemakers and single mothers has increased by (39%) over the past ten years.
      3. 2003 data show that over (40%) of displaced homemakers are poor, despite the fact that nearly half of all displaced homemakers are employed.
      4. (48%) of displaced homemakers were employed in 2003 and (42%) had incomes below the official poverty level and (16%) were "near poor."
      5. (32%) of displaced homemakers are working in low-paying service jobs that frequently offer few, if any, benefits.
